This is one perk about my job. I get to try new restaurants (:
A ‘very english’ gastrobar, according to my boss, with the vintage tiled and furniture not unlike our local kopitiam. A casual setup good for large group of gatherings as well.
Potted Smoked Mackerel, Rye Toast
Generous portion of the mackerel which is Inhouse-made, not too salty. A pity that there were only 4 slices of the toast.
Crab Cakes, Quail Eggs, Anchovy Cream
Warm and crumbly to the bite, and a very pretty presentation of the little sunny-side ups
Scallops, Black Pudding, Smoked Cheese
Black pudding, essentially pig’s blood congealed, has to be the highlight of this dish. Slightly sweet and chewy. (think this is no longer on the menu)
Luckily we did not googled about black pudding beforehand, my companion might not have enjoyed her meal :P
Eccles Cakes, with rum and raisin ice cream
Caramelized raisins pastry, that went down well with a cuppa
A sweet ending too
Total damages ~ $100
Will I go back again? maybe for their set lunch (lighter on my wallet).
^.^
